Matt Chandler on the Authority of the Bible

February 20, 2008 2 comments

I’ve posted before on a preacher I enjoy listening to named Matt Chandler. I recently found some videos of him that I thought you might enjoy. Stephanie was amazed because she had a much different picture of him in her head. Maybe you do to. In this video Matt explains why it is important to have an authoritative view of the Bible. I think this 3:00 min clip highlights both his wit and his intensity.

May I be in DC in May

December 10, 2007 Leave a comment

For various reasons I’ve wanted to go to Washington DC the past two years. This May I might not be able to resist the urge. Ben Arment is a guy whose blog I’ve read for years and he’s putting together a one-day conference event with some men who I could hear teach about Jesus all day long. He’s calling it ‘The Whiteboard Sessions‘ and if he announces Matt Chandler this week as one of the speakers I might be booking a flight that same day!

Living the Way

October 17, 2007 3 comments

Anytime Matt Chandler says or writes something I want to be exposed to it. I love the guy’s passion and insight. Here’s a piece of something he recently wrote for Catalyst Monthly.

The first Christians were not known solely for what they believed. There were no books on Christian doctrine, no discipleship materials, no web blogs to browse, and no seeker services. They were known by how they lived. In fact, the very first Christians were not called Christians at all; they were called “The Way” (Acts 9:2). I love that.

Acting like a Christian, while successfully managing a team and building a career in a secular environment, is something that has been on my mind a lot the last few months.
