Happy Easter 2008!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Today is my bride’s birthday! What a babe! Stephanie is a wonderful wife and mother who is becoming an extremely strong Christian woman. I’m told by people all the time how lucky I am to be with her because I’m way out of my league. Happy birthday babe!

What I’ve Been Up To

If you were wondering why my blogging has been slow for the last couple weeks, Stephanie (my wife) has put up some posts and pictures detailing a few of the things we’ve been up to. You can see more pics on our Flickr page as well.

Oh yeah, I started a new job as well, which has been kind of consuming!

Vacation Highlight #1

On Friday night Stephanie and I had a chance to go on a double date with our good friends the Kerr’s. We went to Comerica Park in Detroit and watched the MN twins play against the Tigers. Baseball in an outdoor stadium is sweet, can’t wait for the Twins to get an outdoor place. Everything about the night was perfect – free tickets and parking, great seats close to first base, a free hat from the gift shop, a hot dog and nachos, being next to my love, 70 degree temps, and an 11-1 thrashing by the Twins. Izzy the Raccoon

In case you were concerned about the black rings around Izzy’s eyes in the picture below here is the explanation. She and her Daddy were playing with Mommy’s eye liner. In the pictures below our little raccoon was making her brother laugh by repeatedly saying ‘poopey.’

Jacob the Goalie

I am so excited about the fact that my son Jacob is in love with the game of hockey. Not quite sure if I could handle being a goalie parent, but at least he is getting into the spirit of things. Almost every time we play hockey together Jacob will randomly announce that he is going to the penalty box for 2 minutes, or other times he says the the Zamboni is coming out on the ice so he has to take off his helmet and go to the living room (locker room).

Tonight we are planning to put some jerseys on and play a little one-on-one. How fun is being a dad, eh. For a couple more hockey pics, and many other random Balvin family poses, check out our Flickr site. Be sure to leave a comment there so we know whose visiting.

Looking for Digital Camera Information

I want to buy a new digital camera for Christmas this year. My desires are…

1. 6 MP or higher
2. 6x or higher optical zoom
3. Multiple flash options
4. 2″ or larger LCD viewing screen
5. The ability to snap pictures quickly

If anyone knows some things about cameras please leave me a comment. I am not looking just for personal opinion, but for consumer report stories and experiential anecdotes. Thanks!
